Sync-N-Link-X

Batch sync dual-system sound using jam-synced timecode instead of doing it manually or one-by-one. This is probably the first plugin I would recommend getting if you are dealing with syncing dailies often.

X2PRO

This is for getting your Final Cut Pro audio over to Pro Tools for your audio work-- as FCPX does not have a built in AAF or OMF file exchange format.

SendToX (previously known as 7toX for Final Cut Pro) translates XML from Premier Pro CC and other compatible applications into Final Cut Pro X so you can use Apple’s powerful new professional editing tools to update or finish projects OR you could try and hack it for free by using DaVinci Resolve-- like I discuss in this Frame.io Blog Article.

TRACK-X

A strong case could be made to get the EVERYTHING BUNDLE from CoreMelt (as all of their plugins are stellar) if you had to choose I'd go with TRACK-X first. It utilizes Mocha 3D tracking and is the industry standard as such.

LOCK and LOAD X

After TRACK-X I would look into CoreMelt's powerful stabilizer for FCPX-- as the built in stabilization in Final Cut.

MOVIE SLATE + KEYCLIPS

For those of you not familiar with the MOVIE SLATE app, it is essentially a digital slate where you can enter all sorts of info and metadata. KEYCLIPS is an additional app you can use to automatically sync that metadata with your media in Final Cut Pro X.

FRAME.io

With the latest Final Cut Pro X update it is now possible to have a Frame,io tab INSIDE FCPX! You can export dailies right from your browser onto Frame,io, import comments from Frame.io into your timeline as Markers and much more!

* For those not aware, Frame,io is a leading web-app for video/film review and collaboration.

FINAL CUT PRO LIBRARY MANAGER

This is essentially the adopted standard 3rd party app for organizing and managing all your Final Cut Pro X Libraries all in one place.

SOFTWARE/PLUGINS

You don't always have the tool you need to make your life easiest natively in FCPX and so that's where plugins come into play. Below are a number of widely used/greatly recognized plugins and additional software to help make your work in FCPX faster and easier. Keep in mind Final Cut Pro is a one-time $300 purchase (as opposed to subscription based which will cost you thousands of dollars over the years) and so the fact that you may have to shell out extra cash for these plug-ins isn't as bad as it might seem. Even if you maxed out and got all of the "required" plugins you are still saving money over the subscription based NLE's.
